Sculptors and art lovers from all over the Southeast will have a rare opportunity to hear a presentation and then participate in an open discussion about sculpture with recent Guggenheim fellow, University of Tennessee professor and sculptor John Powers on Oct 7th.
ConFab will kick off at 9 a.m. at Watkins College with registration, coffee & pastries and an opportunity to visit with other sculptors and art lovers. Both MSA Scholarship Winners will present their work at 9:30. John Powers will present the key note address at 10 a.m. followed by a discussion between the sculptor and the audience. The afternoon events include Maintenance of Outdoor Sculpture: Problems, Procedures, and Materials presented by Eva Conwell at 1pm. Folloed by the Emerging Artist Panel featuring John Powers, Brian Jobe of Locate Arts, and Ariel Laverly of Watkins College, at 2:15.
Be sure to also register for the MSA Dinner at Amerigo, an Italian restaurant, with our featured geust John Powers on Saturday night from 7-10 pm! Another great opportunity to engage with John powers and socialize with other sculptors and art lovers. Dinner will include a choice of salad, choice of entree including Eggplant Parmesan, Shrimp Scampi, Chicken Marsala, Prime Sirloin, Salmon, Picatta or Pasta Pomodoro and a choice of dessert. Cost per plate $55.
