The 2020 Dianne Komminsk Scholarship Competition is now OPEN!

The MSA Scholarship for Outstanding Student Achievement competition began in 2016. The first two years of the competition, MSA awarded two scholarships funded by MSA membership fees. In 2018 the Scholarship fund received an anonymous donation, allowing MSA to offer 10 awards. Since then, MSA has continued to award students scholarships based primarily on the artistic merit of their submitted portfolio. This year MSA is proud to announce the Scholarship for Outstanding Student Achievement will award up to 10 students a cash award of $1500 and other benefits.

Winners will be selected by a panel of three jurors: Kate Budd Associate Professor of Art, University of Akron, Kurt Dyrhaug Professor of Studio Art, Lamar University, and Karen Gillenwater Museum Manager, 21c Hotels.

The scholarship exhibition will be hosted by the University of Cincinnati DAAP Gallery from November 12 - December 6, 2020. Artworks for exhibition will be curated from submitted work by DAAP Gallery Director Aaran Cowan.

Please note that winners will receive half of the honorarium upon completion of paperwork including submission of a standard W9 tax form. Payment of the second half of the honorarium will occur at the MSA Sculpture Conference. Winners must attend the conference and participate in the exhibition to receive the second half of the honorarium. Failure to respond in a timely manner to email communications regarding the scholarship, exhibition, and related opportunities will result in a loss of the scholarship.
