Bio
Dawnice Kerchaert received a BFA from the College for Creative Studies and Design, Detroit, and a BA for Art History from Eastern Michigan University. She worked as a graphic designer for 12 years before changing to the fine art field. From 1996-1999 she was the Exhibition Director for Paint Creek Center for the Arts in Rochester MI. She taught American Art History and Graphic Design courses at Oakland Community College.
Kerchaert exhibits her work nationally and has received recognition from Marshall Fredericks Sculpture Museum, award recipient in 2016, Saginaw MI; D’Art Center Best of Show in 2020, San Diego CA; a one-person exhibition at Detroit Contemporary Art Gallery, Detroit, 2023; and most recently awarded an Artist Residency at Michigan Legacy Sculpture Park for fall 2023.
